What are your audio settings? Suppressor turned on/off? AF Suppressor turned on/off? Distortion control turned on/off?

Digital Mic gain was at 16 db,then 6,then 22 because they said that the volume was too low on the receiving end.

Using gain to make up for poor procedures (not talking directly into the mic) can be problematic.

Digital is a new breed and user training is more important than ever. If the radio doesn't have enough audio level to process, audio quality will suffer.

Turn suppression off. That's a noise canceling mic. Don't need audio processing IMHO. Found the same issue with a customer using those mics in analog and they said it improved quality

Found out that I needed the NNTN 8383 Mic for their environment.

The NNTN8383 INC (or NNTN8382 if no earjack is required) mic is amazing. We just did some testing in high noise and it was extremely impressive. We found having AGC turned on worked the best over different noise situations.
