MDC Selective Inhibit - XPR6500 / XPR7550

Post by RESCUE161 »

Can anyone tell me whether these radios can be inhibited via a console MDC command? I'm trying to set up a few radios to be able to "kill" them via an MC2500, but I can't get them to acknowledge the inhibit command. I have no problems inhibiting other radios (Astro/Astro25 line, Jedi, etc). I am fully aware that I can use the disable feature in DMR mode, but I'd like to be able to send the commands over an analog channel.

Thanks,
Scott

I can get the 7550 to accept the inhibit command, but the 6500 is a no-go. Has anyone else had any luck inhibiting these things?

What's the firmware level on the 6500's? They were only made for a few years, and if the firmware hasn't been uplifted, they may not have the ability. I know I tried inhibiting XPR6550's with MDC many years ago from an XPR4550 base, and it worked at the time.

Most current firmware. They can be inhibited via DMR. They also have 1000 channels and 1000 contacts, which surprised me as they were only 256 channels before the uplift. They are already loaned out at this time. I don't expect to have to inhibit them, but MDC Selective Inhibit it was a nice thought.

When I mentioned that the 7550 accepted the inhibit command, I was referring to the MDC S.I. command from the MC2500 console.
