XPR4500 Control Head Swap

I have an XPR4500 that was damaged, the volume control took a hit to be exact, and is a bit loose and wobbly now. I have another with a perfect control head I'd like to swap in, but I'm not sure how to disconnect it from the flexible flat cable header. How do you get the cable out of the header? It's looks pretty easy to kill if you're not sure. TIA!
