Has anyone had any problems with Astro 25 17.00.00 being literally slow while reading, and writing to a portable? When I use the program to write to my XTS5000, what normally takes 10 seconds to program, takes almost 5 minutes. This never happened when I was using 16.00.00. The firmware rev in my radio 16.00.01 could it be that? I have a friend thats experiencing the same problem as me, so it's not limited to one person.

On another Astro group there were reports of it taking up to 20 minutes for the FPP models of the XTS2500 and XTS5000 along with reported problems where CPS 17 bricked some users radios.

Glad I don't have to upgrade anymore.

Boy,

It's a good thing they don't have anything to do with the nuclear business, without proper testing and all I'm sure if they were in the nuclear business they would have blown Illinois off the map a long time ago.

XTS/XTL Firmware Update - R16.00.02 release. The R17.00.00 release has been temporarily removed due to reported field issues. We recommend that field installation of this release be discontinued.

I'm talking about the software, not the firmware...I'm already aware of the firmware problem.

I used R17 CPS to load R17 firmware in an XTS5000 with a Bravo processor and noticed nothing out of the ordinary. In fact it was done via RS232 because the FW was so old, did not have any problems upgrading or aligning the unit. Glad I got lucky, I know Motorola likes to charge you a flat rate when the radio bricks in a FW upgrade! $400 because their software process failed, nice!

Take it from me, it's not just the firmware it's also the CPS R17.00.00 don't use either until M does something about them, I have had twenty 01/82 errors, on both 2500s and 5000s and a 5000 that just came back from the depot, so when all is said and done, stay away from, firmware and CPS R17 until they do some thing and it will be soon, the depot is having the same trouble.

Sort of too late for my 5000 since I programmed it with 17.00.00 (It's not bricked thankfully :) )

Host 17.00.02
DSP 17.00.02

Has been released. I had no issues on a XTS2500 & XTS5000 with 17.00.00
Tough trying to get 17.00.02 to load correctly. All kind of errors. I can't even get it to read the 2500. The 5000 looks like it updated. When I read the radio it is showing the currect Host/DSP.

I re-loaded 5 of the radios (xts2500) that I loaded with 17.00.00 with 17.00.02 with no issues at all.
Perfect USB load each time and now the DSP matches the FW.
