How can I get this radio up to 440-450 UHF Ham Band. I have been told that this radio will tune right up?

Well using the service manual I was able to tune it right up. It is programmed for 448.6125 TX / 443.6125 RX / Narrow band and dual mode. It is currently programmed for VSELP and Analog, However it will work on IMBE as well. But not both VSELP and IMBE at the same time. Wooo Hoooo!!!!

I got this on E-BAY

Receiver TRE6281E50 with narrow preselector TLE5991A, ,
Exciter TLE5971E51, ,
Power Preamp TLE980A45 , ,
110 watt PA TLE2511A47 403-438 MHz, ,
Station controller TTN4094B41,
Station Control Firmware R016.06.018,
Station Wireline Firmware R016.06.013, ,
Station Exciter B016.06.001 ,
CodePlug Version 6,

I paid $599.00 plus $90 for shipping. I found out where they came from and am going to get the rest from the agency that is upgrading their system. There are 27 left.

Well whoever told you that has no clue and I will let them continue to give bad info, that way I will have better chances of gobbling up these radios. Because this one is obviously working just fine.

Well I got this one and it was set up for 6809 trunking. I went into the service and redid the Hardware configuration and enabled both ASTRO for VSELP and ASTRO CAI and I was blown away when it worked. At any rate no problem at all.
