AS3 512K Does IMBE

Post by USGOVTECH »

Ok, bought a lot of radios from Gov Auction and they are all Astro Saber III's. When the radios are put into service mode the radio displays "512K" and the flashcode. And guess what the radios are IMBE and not VSELP. Never experienced this before.

A 512k AstroSaber WILL do teh IMBE....

However, nothing above about DSP 7 ~ish can fit into a 512k vocon

BUT....pretty lucky on getting an eBay AS batch and actually having an IMBE flash....

Get a recent DSP with it? or older stuf

My ASIII (R05.06, I06.02.02) is 512K and will happily do IMBE.

You can always find out what the flashcode is and see what mumble jumble you got. If they are VHF I'll be interested in getting one. :D

the above is "SORTA" true.

the DSP partition size is 256k. the Host is either 1meg or 512k

you *CAN* cram DSP 8 into a 512k radio and run it with old host firmware.

i've personally witnessed this, so BS flaggers stay away.
