See this. Seems to bypass any legal issues. Can this same method be used on VSELP???

I dont see why this would not work with an VSELP radio instead of ProVoice of P25 but I have never tried it.

On second thought...

This method requires the radio to be programmed to a conventional channel with digital carrier squelch and VSELP does not allow for this.

You would have to have he conventional channel programmed with the correct network id.

how about open sky???

could this be the answer to those who wish to monitor open sky??

i don't know too much about trunking technologies beyond getting my trunk tracker programmed up :)

the problem with this method is it still requires you to buy a radio capable of the mode in which you want to listen.

IIRC an opensky radio does not support simplex (atleast in TDMA mode)
