IFR COM-120B Analyzer problem

Post by giancom120b »

Hello to all forum participants,

I would like to ask you about a problem occurred on my COM 120b.
In the following spans my analyser shows the track a little bit shifted away:

100KHz division trace is shifted
500Khz division trace is shifted
1MHz division trace is shifted
-----------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------
1KHz division is ok
2Khz division is ok
5KHz division is ok
10KHz division is ok
20KHz division is ok
50KHz division is ok
200KHz division is ok
-----------------------------------------

This problem could came out when I exchanged the old RTC DS1286 with
drained battery with a new one.
I carried out the whole calibration of the analyser on both hardware
and software parts as explained in the service manual, but the problem
is still present.

Should I ask you if your COM 120b have the same issue, considering
it's not so serious for my job?

Wowbagger what do you think about?

Maybe could be the filter used to plot those spans deriving a little
bit from the standards?
Do you know if exist some kind of software offset to be set via RS232
commands to fix this thing?

Thank you
Best regards,

Gianfranco

The filter being a bit off could be. Try slowing the sweep down and see if that shifts it.
This is my opinion, not Aeroflex's.

I WILL NOT give you proprietary information. I make too much money to jeopardize my job.

I AM NOT the Service department: You want official info, manuals, service info, parts, calibration, etc., contact Aeroflex directly, please.

after all the shift I experience on the higher spans is not so
serious, so I think I could accept it.

I would like to thank you all the guys who read my post but my
special thanks absolutely have to go to Wowbagger for the kind,
polite, but always precise and exhaustive cooperation to solve our
issues with the instruments

Have a nice day
