R2014 Alignment

Post by Bat3516 »

Hello on the list,

I recently came into a couple of well used Motorola R2014D Communications Analyzers. They're a little rough but working. Does anyone have access to a Service Manual for this model that they would be willing to share or part with? Thanks.

The repeater builder site has a pdf file on the R2000D series here.

Can anyone enlighten me on what the "I" in the model identifier "R2015DIHS" stands for or what this model does differently?

You can also take a look on ebay at a DVD with all 2000 series manuals:

There was no such designation. That model would have originally been....R-2015D/HS ....which would be the R2001D analyzer with the type 1 trunking option, secure communications with DVP, DVP-XL, and the high stability oscillator. Later during the manufacturing run the "-" and "/" characters were dropped from the model numbers.

I used to work for Motorola in the Test Equipment Service Depot since before the first R-2001A was built to past the last of the R2000D series was sold, so believe me when I say that the ONLY letters that have ever followed the model # suffix (A, B, C or D) have been HS for high stability. The S/N labels would be replaced by us if it was damaged or if an option such as secure communications was added to a unit, so it could be a typo by somebody.

OOPS! Sorry. There was an R2014DI version. It was strictly a US Government option that would have been removed before going into the secondary market, so your model # SHOULD read R2014DHS.

Well I'd guess then it was to help set the deviation after adding the 'GFE module' of which we can't talk of after doing the supporting hardware mods to SABER radios.
