IFR COM120C / 2945 PCMCIA Flash Card

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has been successful in using a compact flash to PCMCIA adaptor and managed to get it to work on either the COM120B/C or the 2945.
I'm getting via the serial terminal off the COM120C:
..\..\ifr\diskbios.cpp:141 - DISK ERR: drive 0, err ERR_PARTITION
..\..\ifr\diskbios.cpp:141 - DISK ERR: drive 0, err ERR_PARTITION
..\..\ifr\diskbios.cpp:191 - Error mounting drive 0: code 55
The whole IFR freezes when I insert the PCMCIA adaptor.
