XPR300 with CAT controller

Post by n1gtl »

I have an XPR8300. I'd like to interface with a CATxxx controller for ham use. I do not see an option in the XPR programming to set the XPR as a "base" as I would expect in an MTR3000. Has anyone done this that can provide a possible pinout and settings for the 8300?

Thanks,

Jim

Do you have access to the MOTOTRBO system planner? If so, search for Zetron Controllers. It has wiring info for an external repeater controller. Not too much detail on the XPR8300 set up other than reference that Pin 17 (PTT) and Pin 22 (Squelch/CSQ Detect) need to be provisioned
in the CPS.

Under accessories, disable repeat path check box. Check it and write the repeater.

Pin 17 PTT
Pin 11 Mic hi
Pin 14 RX audio
Pin 12 Audio Ground
Pin 16 & 18 Ground
Pin 8 Power Ground
Pin 7 switched B+
Pin 19 Program for CSQ or PL/Talk Group Detect

Thank you both. I do have the detailed service manual and system planner.
