XTS UCM Firmware

Post by NSPD »

What is the latest Astro25 UCM Firmware? I was thinking it was R05.07.xx

But....

I just picked up one of these ex-DC Police XTS5000's on ebay and it has DES-XL/OFB. The UCM Firmware is showing to be R07.11.10 both in test mode and in CPS.

Latest was 05.07.15 for UCM's.

Any chance you have one of the mystical XTS/XTL MACE's? I remember on P25.ca they claimed that such a beast existed.

Your guess is as good as mine.. It only has DES-XL and DES-OFB. Host/DSP is 11 so it's older.

Also just to rule it out... I don't see any indications of a Sierra Module in the service menu or CPS... That was my first concern.

Yes, there are definitely MACE UCMs for X series radios, and they are in the 7.xx.xx firmware range. The last couple of years of XTS5000 production that is what was used, from what I've seen.

Thanks for the info... I figured it was something weird like that.

Any chance you happen to know if you can Key-load the newer MACE-style UCM's with a KVL3000, or is KVL3000+/KVL4000 only?

I will find out when i finish programming, all I have is a T3011DX. FWIW I can keyload my APX's with the T3011DX so I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

I only used 3000+ and 4000, so can't say 100%, but I don't expect it would be an issue.

The MACE supports PID and CKR keyloading, so you can quite easily load any MACE style UCM or MACE equipped device with anything from a T3011DX right up to a KVL4000.
