XTS 1500 Software issues

Post by baycroc »

I ordered the SW for Astro25 R20.01.00 but every Time I try and read the XTS1500, I get an error.

It says "Open Radio Failed Error Context: 24, Error Code c000039e"

Using Win 10
I have tried compatibility mode for win 7 and XP

I have tried USB to serial adapter with serial cable. I have also used the serial port on the PC and no changes.

It was a $40 cable that was supposed to work. Any thoughts?
I searched the board and haven't seen this anywhere.

If using a serial cable (why would you - USB is the preferred method) mkae sure the CPS is set to use the serial cable in _view_options_. Are you using the OEM serial programming cable for XTS? It's not the same as the Jedi series cable.

In Win 10 you are going to have dificulty getting a serial cable to work, apparently Microsloth thinks serial ports and DVD drives are 'old tech' and the support is not well fleshed out.

The prefered cable for XTS is the (expensive) OEM USB cable. This works well in Win 7 through 10. Make sure to set the CPS to the correct port for serial or the correct mode when going to USB.
