APX7000 Vs. XTS5000 On Encrypted P25 Channel

Post by Jim1348 »

I have one P25 conventional channel programmed in my scan list on both an APX7000 and an XTS5000. I do not have encryption on either transceiver. The P25 channel has both encrypted and unencrypted traffic on it. On the XTS5000, I hear the noise when receiving an encrypted transmission. On the APX7000, it mutes the noise when receiving an encrypted transmission, which is what I prefer. If there a setting on the XTS5000 to mute encrypted P25 traffic?

You probably have the XTS5K set for Digital Carrier Squelch in the personality which is why you are hearing it.

Actually, no I don't. That is one of the first I thought of. So, the two units should behave the same then? I will go and double check that, though. Maybe I missed it somehow.
