APX8000 Battery Connection
On my APX8000 I noticed a very very very minor play in movement with battery connected to radio, When putting the battery on radio it just slides on there. You don't have to give it any minor force to click in there.. Is this normal on your 8000 model ???
I monitor my PM's, So I should reply fairly quick...

Re: APX8000 Battery Connection
With my 14.4 battery I notice some play, but none with my short batteries. FYI mine's a XE, but the battery housing should be the same.

I noticed that on our APX8000s that just arrived. Motorola engineer that I talked to stated it is normal to have a little play.

Correct, a little play is OK, but for a battery to slide in effortless to click in place is too much. Check the rubber o-ring around the battery contact column at top of battery. It may need replacing.

Re: APX8000 Battery Connection
Mine's the opposite. I push the battery in with my thumb until I can push no more. But then it still requires a light smack with the heel of my hand to make the retainers click. No big deal, as I only have 1 battery. Absolutely no play at all once installed. GARY
