Cheesiest Install Ever!!!

Post by W3MOT »

I was browsing the net for some Whelen stuff when I came across a site for a Certified escort company. I've seen several installs in my short days... this definitely goes on the 'list'. And you know which list I'm talk'in about! The only thing I found interesting was the RAM laptop mount.. and still. I would've chosen Havis. 8)

Keep in mind, these are just SOME pics. The 'full' version can be seen on their website:

I thought Hideaway LEDs were supposed to be....well... Hideaway. Not "Seen-Rightaway"
They did a pretty good job wiring them up, though.

My favorite part was how they used yellow Wire Loom to try and 'cover up' the wire that they ran across the roof. They clearly didn't want to bother drilling holes through the roof.

Since I'm sort of a newb to installs, what are some thoughts of the other members on this board? What would you have done differently?

Have you ever heard the term "RED NECK"?

That's a good install compared to some I have seen before.

I wonder how long before the doors chew through all of those cables?
I also wonder how far back that red lead from the battery goes before it finds a fuse?

I believe the site says that the install has a built-in fuse box on the actual console with a "single 15 Amp fuse". They mounted the power supply out in the open. Eh.
