Crossband Rpt w/ RICK Box

Post by ffighter_94 »

I am needing to cross band repeat 2 channels on scene. 1 is a VHF mutual aid channel programmed into a GM300 and the other is a 800 conventional channel programmed into a GTX. Is it possible to use a RICK box with a GM300 and a GTX mobile? I thought I had a 800 Max ls laying around, but I dont. Since there is not a spot in the RSS for programming of the 16 pin option plug on the GTX, I am curious what the pinout is for it so that I can make the appropiate cable to connect the GTX to the RICK.

I do not think anyone has answered your question because WILL, another Batlaber, usually jumps all over RICK questions. Also, WILL makes units to replace RICKs for projects like yours here.
For BI-directional repeat both radios must have COR as a 16 pin option. Carrier Operated Relay or COR is what triggers PTT. And as you mentioned there is no 16 pin options in the RSS that makes this tricky. I believe WILL’s repeater maker will work using the mic jack.

Find WILL and look at his messages for more info. I think he even has a website.

Good luck.

BiDirectional repeat or Extender Module would require some internal mods in the GTX radio. Trunking radios work different.
With an added logic level output, It would be plug and play from there. There may be a way to make it work, I'd have to take a look at the GTX radio. I'd be glad to mod the radio and also test the Extender Module with it.

The EXtender Module IS different that the Repeater module.

E-mail me thru the website e-mail for more on your paticular application(s).
