MDC 1200 software

Post by StanComm »

Does anyone know of the existance of software which will encode and decode MDC1200. Something which would run on a laptop and be tied into a service monitor via the sound card for diagnostic work, etc.
Thanks, Stan

No. PRO series radios (HT750 1250 1550 & CDM 1205 and certian 1550's) work great for this function. Decoding can be done with a product from Cimmiron Tech. I have used many of the different Mark models with NO problems.

The Midian Electronics soultions look functional. Can you just plug the audio it into the mic jack of a laptop?

How about QC-II tones? Any software to read them? It sure would be nice to get the tones for the local firehouse.

Download Cool Edit Pro 2.55 from Kazaa, works great.

I get about 50 hits with all different file sizes. Looks strange to me ;)

How much for a decoder?

Post by StanComm »

The prices that I've seen for the hardware decoders are in the 4 to 500 dollar range... wholesale. That's one reason that I asked the original question about a software based solution.
