MCS2000 as an RF-Modem

Post by tackweld »

Quick Question:

I am in the process of installing several laptops in place of the motorola MDT 9100-T's. We are currently using a VRM-600 as the RF-Modem, but the infrastructure is scheduled to change next year, and we still need two additional modems.

We currently have 2 extra MCS-2000 and 1 Spectra radio. I attempted to use the spectra as an RF-Modem, but the protocal is different.

So.. the question at hand is:

Will the MCS-2000 support RD-LAP 19.2 in RF-Modem mode??

I believe the RF modem function in the MCS2000 is the same as that function in a Spectra - it is intended to interface the 3600 baud control channel data to an application such as System Watch or Site Lens.
