Astro Saber-Saber speakermic

Post by BrienD »

Do the Astro Saber and the Saber use the same speakermic? The audio pinouts look the same.

Are you sure? The batlabs saber and astro saber pages link to the same accessory connector pinout chart.
Also, my saber speaker mic seems to work just fine on my astro saber.

I know the programming cable is slightly different (pin 6 vs pin 8 on the db25).

I routinely use my Saber speaker mic in my Astro Saber, but there are two BIG notes.

1) The Saber uses an "MX" antenna connector. The Astro Saber uses an SMA. If you try to screw down the retainer into the antenna jack of the wrong radio, you will have a very bad day. Change the insert, or don't use (at your own risk) the retainer.

2) Only the conventional speaker mics are remotely interchangeable. The public safety mics use totally different switching systems for the RF and can not be exchanged.
