POWER Button NOT WORKING on Astro Spectra A7

Post by ssybert »

For some reason the power button on my Astro Spectra does nothing. When I apply power to the radio and the Orange and green wires the radio comes on. I cannot do anything about it. I looked high and low through the RSS for someplace that mentions POWER as an option but I could not find anything. I dont know if there's a bit I need to bang or something? I dont know what would cause this but I cannot get it to turn off. I suspect this has something to do with me getting FAIL 01/90's. It happens when I remove the control cable from the head to turn it off and plug it back in. I'll get the FAIL code until I goto the trunk and unplug the radio itself and plug it back in, OR I can wait a few minutes with the radio head unplugged and later, when I plug it back in it works.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

I'm running this radio seperated with a control cable. As far as I knew, when the radio is seperated, the ignition and PTT triggers were the orange and green wire on the control head size of the control cable. both of which are powered. This was happening before I seperated the radio too. At that time I DID have pin 5 powered +12 and the radio functioned correctly like it does now. It just wouldn't let me turn the radio on and off with the power button. Just like it is still doing now.
