Powering on the HT1250.....

Post by kb1dvg »

Hello all.....I have a HT-1250 ful DTMF & every once in a while when I turn it on I get the normal power on beep (all the time) then a few times I get a series of beeps, high & low ?? When I move the channel selector it stops. I've tried looking into everything I can, Even the CPS but have no luck. Anyone have ideas??? Thanks, Joe. KB1DVG.....

My wife just got one issued from the EMS. It does the same thing occasionally. It freaked me out since it did it the first time I powered it up.

Damn annoying.

In the eliminate the obvious department:

Is there any chance that the reminder alarm is set? If the radio is powered off at the time that the alarm is set for, it will sound as soon as the radio is turned on again and finishes its' POST..

It will go away as soon as the Menu Up (escape key) is pressed, or the channel selector is turned, etc. The radio will then behave normally for the duration of 24 hours until the alarm comes around again.

It's pretty funny how many radios come into my shop as "broken" because of this. Another favorite is when a user turns the channel selector to an empty channel and gets the continuous unprogrammed channel tone. Then there's daylight savings time...
