I was unsucessful getting the HT1000 to mute the MDC on de-key from other radios and repeater. The key up mute worked just fine muting for a lenth of time I could adjust.
Maybe I have/had the wrong settings or because it is a "A" model VHF radio.
I think some radio users just like to hear their MDC tones, drives me and other users nuts!

I was able to get the MDC on the de-key to partailly mute in the receiver but what a hassle. I don't rember exactly how I did it on a A model VHF HT1000. I still have to hear the MDC and after a while it drives us NUTZZ.
Then there is the dumb "dealers" and techs who do not setup the Quantar repeaters correctly and the users have to listen to ALL the realy long "squelch crashes".
Sorry, I will get down off my Coke box now.
