KVL for Saber I? (my newbie behind at it again)

Post by InfernoMDM »

Ok so KVL's are impossible to find from what I have read. Would it be legal to make a program that would program a radio's encryption chip through a rib. Has it been done or is it illegal?

KVLs are available on eBay, just search for things like DES, KVL and keyloader. The RIB is not inteded nor designed to keyfill. I don't know about it's legality, but I have *never* heard of a PC keyloading a Saber through the RIB. IIRC, the pin on the programming cable doesn't make it to the DB25 at the other end anyway.

I use a T3020BX for loading DES keys into sabers. You should also be able to use any type (AX, BX, CX) T3011 KVL as well.

Shouldn't be illegal (other than copyright issues on the code or methods to do it of course), you just potentially lose a shitload of security on your encryption keys as soon as you involve a PC to keyload.
