ASIII and aliasing

Post by Radiogeek97 »

I was wondering if my ASIII can be set up to show names instead of id's when decoding PTT id. I have a CDM 1550 that does it. The radio is being used in the conventional mode, and it is flashed for id display.

thanks

Nope. I believe only the XTS5000 can do that, probably the 2500 too!

Yeah, I know, it's a PITA.

Yes, the XTS2500 can do ID aliasing.

The problem is that if two systems are using the same ID, it will display the same on both systems, which might become confusing. I don't think there's any way around it. Of course, my radio doesn't have a display (yet) so I can't see anything one way or the other.
