mts2000 160 ch to 255 ch how do i convert?

mts2000 160 ch to 255 ch how do i convert?

i have a mts2000 160 ch full rotary dial i want to convert it to a 255 ch how would i go about ths?
can i just reprogram it with the 255 ch rss?
it is model H01KDH9PW8AN...

It may not be possible. The instructions in the model specific section on batlabs detail how to do it for an MT2000, the problem with the MTS2000 is the 'toolproofing' issue. If your firmware version is 5.42 or above, you cannot use the available LAB RSS to modify the radio at all. If your radio is old enough (pre-95 or so) then the batlabs info should get you through it. You can check your firmware version in the display upon entering test mode, by pressing the small button directly below the PTT 5 times after the 'self check' powerup display.
