The MTS2000 will not do MPT1327 trunking and they can not be converted, the radio you need is a PTX1200 or PTX600 UHF or VHF to use with fleet comms MPT1327 trunking in Australia. The PTX1200 looks identical to the MTS2000 except for different characters on the keypad.

I'm a little curious - with a name like fire_1 I'm assuming that you want to listen to a Fire Service/s, but I'm not aware of any in Oz that use MPT?

What model and split is the MTS?

Cheers,

Post by batjedi »

Hello,

I own a GP1200 UHF 4 MPT1327 Trunking personalities and 10 channel convencional.

Do you want to trade your mts2000 for my gp1200 ?

Is your mts2000 UHF ? Can you give me the full model number.

My GP1200 model is H01RDH9CK7AN

Kindest regards

Ok, your flashcode decodes as:

000101-000000-8

H39 Selective Radio Inhibit
H35/G48 Conventional Operation

So it looks like it won't do MPT1327 trunking.

Also the diference in the model number seems to refer to what basic features are available and what model revision the radio is.

Does the CFA MTS return a flashcode? If so, what is it?

Steve

PS doesn't CFA just use conventional PMR for it's operations with trunking used for wide area administration?

I don't wish to sound ignorant, but how do you know that this MTS on Ebay does MPT1327 trunking?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... gory=34164

The model # is the same as Fire_1's and as the vendor doesn't give the flashcode one wouldn't know what the radio is capable of.

mts2000 trunking

Post by fire_1 »

I went into the service menu on the CFA mts2000 and it comes up with
5165047A08 not sure if this is the fireware then the serial then the model

I got a look at one from the DSE and it comes up with 5165047A10 then the serial then the model

same model radios running on mpt1327- H01KDH9PW8AN

does anyone know if this is the firmware or what it is?

thanks mick

What radios do you own?: XTS3000 III, MTS2000 III,

I work for the CFA in San Remo and i'm not sure y u want an MTS-2000 with MPT and crap cause YOU can NOT legally use it for the CFA in any respect. The radio must be CFA approved with the sticker on the back cause the radio may not perform like the others and if someone else uses it and something happens and it either costs a life or damage and they find out that the radio wasn't a CFA radio u could be charged, and it's serious. U may as well just buy a 1000ch scanner and scan it. I have a MT-2100 which was an Ex-CFA 2001 radio and i can't use it even though it was ex.

Another thing is that Motorola have custom made the flash programming RSS for CFA radios and it can't be cloned from the CFA portable to for say your MTS even though it's the same Flash port and everything it still won't be the same. My MT-2100 EX-CFA and it still has everything in it all the regions and even the Trunking stuff the telephones and the SMR personalities yet even though i know that it's everything that a CFA approved radio would have i wouldn't dare use it on the job i only use if for looks when i have uniform on and i'm walking around the street and when i do on route call outs so i can listen in a now exaclty where the job is. Sometimes on rare occastions when the brigade don't have enough radios to go around i use it but only for like local events where the CFA are used as crowd and traffic control, and it seems to work fine but i wouldn't trust it, as something small may have changed which could be a major thing. So to wrap it all up DON'T even think about trying to clone or flash or program the radio to the CFA stuff as it's a waste of time and it's illegal and dangours. BUY A SCANNER!!!

I don't want to sound negitive but it's about saftey and lives.
