Saber III in saber II houseing

Post by Motoman »

I've got a Saber III however it's in a saber II housing. I openened it up and it even and the DTMF board installed on the front. So all it needs is a Saber III housing. But do i need to have the saber III housing to have it do 120 ch?

No, You can still use the 120 channels with the saber 2 housing on the radio. I have the same one.

Saber 2 vs. Saber 3 housing...

The only thing you can NOT do with a 2 housing on a 3 radio is to directly access a zone; you have to "step" through the zones instead of punching in the zone number then the enter button.

Obviously also you can't dial DTMF tones but that's another matter.

You can't do user-programmable scan with a Saber II case either.
