Standard Microphone and earpiece for Astor Saber?????

Post by jmr061 »

Is there a motorola kit or standard motorola microphone for the Astro Saber series radio that allows an earpiece to be used with it? If so anyone got the part numbers. I currently have jedi style microphone for the astro saber but it has no jack for an earpiece.

Thanks

Thats exactly what I am looking to do, is use an earpiece AND a speakermic. So basically you are saying motorola doesn't have one. Strange.

Thanks

The NMN6166C Saber spkr/mic has a 2.5mm MONO jack for an earphone.

But I would have to agree that a jack on the radio or the spkr/mic plug does work better, one less cord (earphone) dangeling.

I have two 2 piece earphone/mics that I can not use with the Astro Saber, anyone got a wiring or schematic diagram for the plug used on the spkr/mic. I am thinking of putting connector from a NMN6166 on them.

Jason... Texcap is right.. That is the exact same speaker mic that I use at work. It works great and I never had a problem with it. All you have to do is change the antenna screw from regular saber to astro saber.
