Just bought some replacement batteries, all are labled 999 KDN....so it looks like the old method of decoding a battery date by year and week is no longer valid. How do you now decode a battery date?

Hi,
Provided that you are talking about Motorola batteries, Astro Saber is dead on. I had just recently discussed this with my Motorola rep.

Yes 'um, I too would agree with Astro Saber. Did you purchase the replacement batts new, if so you were ripped as you got 3 year old batts from the 9th week of 1999.

Is the code the same on HT & Mt-1000 batts?

example code for HT-1000 = 139 AKB 1

Example code for MT-1000 = 847 LU

Thanx

Bundy

Batteries were purchased from Kendoo for SP50 radios (standard size). In looking at them again after reading the responses, it appears that they are not genuine Motorola, although VERY similar in appearance. Kendoo represents these to be brand new batteries, and I don't think they'd dump old stuff on me...so maybe they really don't have an accurate date code on them?
