Really not sure how to word the topic but...
On the zone spectra's, there was an option in RSS that allowed the radio to remember what the last mode was any zone. For instance, if you were in mode 4 in zone 10, and went to another zone, the next time you went to zone 10, mode 4 would be selected.
With my Astro spectra, it always defaults to mode 1 on every zone. Is there a way around this? I must be missing something.

I believe the function you are talking about is called "positional" and is the first option under zone on the F2 screen (zones need to be enabled in order for it to be visible).
However, it works a bit differently than described. It does not remember position state within a zone from when you were last in that zone. Rather, what it remembers is the position state in the "old" zone when you change from an "old" zone to a "new" zone. Thus, if you were in Zone 1, slot 5 and cycled up to Zone 2, with "positional" enabled, you'd end up in Zone 2, slot 5. With "positional" disabled, you'd get to Zone 2, slot 1.
For those enamored of jumping back and forth a lot, there is a feature in MCS2000 radios that allows you to define a button called "MSx" where x is 1 through 4. In essence, these act like an old "radio button" in AM/FM car radios. When in a mode, a long press of the MSx button will remember that zone/slot position, and when in any other mode, a short press will get you back to the remembered position. Sort of like a user-programmable "Home" button.
This feature is not available in the Spectras I'm aware of, though it may become available in the newer ones (which use the MSTX metaphor for programming).

The only Astro Spectras on which I have much mileage are W4s (rotary channel selector), where you wouldn't expect this feature to be. Just check to see what kind of control head your radio thinks it has.
In general, the W-series Spectras share only an outside case with A, B and C Spectras. Then entire programming construct is different (based on the MTSX).
