Post by SCOBRAS »

Anyone have an aftermarket source for the Astro Spectra Plus Programming Cable or have the plans to make one?

The Astro Spectra Plus Programming / Flash cable, part number HKN6155, is a ribless cable. In other words, it has a module part way along the cable that contains micro sized interface circuitry so that no RIB is required.

Considering that, there isn't much point in trying to roll your own or find a clone when the real thing is only $95 from Motorola.

Don't get the astro spectra flash cable and the XTL5000 cable confused. 2 Different beasts. Both use the front mic jack.

Yes, the Astro Spectra Plus cable uses the front mic jack, and as tpg stated so does the old Astro Spectra FLASHPORT cable.

The new cable, being ribless has a bump in-line and has a 9 pin 'D' serial connector whereas the old cable has no bump and has a 25 pin 'D' connection that goes to the RIB.
