XTS Ruggedized housing vs. Non-Ruggedized
Are there any distinguishing marks other than the label on a ruggedized XTS housing? What exactly are the differences between the two? Ie. The gasket around the radio is thicker, speaker grill sealed, etc.

· What does a XTS 3000R provide that the standard version does not?
o Robustness- The XTS 3000R can withstand low pressure, dust, humidity, shock, rain, salt, fog, solar radiation, temperature shock, vibration, high and low temperatures - for operation and storage.
o Submersibility- The XTS 3000R can withstand up to four hours under six feet of water - fresh or salt.
o More Visibility- The Public Safety Yellow makes it easier for police officers, manufacturing and utility workers, and other commercial and industrial operations to locate their radios.
o Two-way "light"- Most radios are made rugged by bulking up, but the XTS 3000R is extra rugged without the extra bulk.
Also be advised…

The batteries for the ruggedized models are different.
