Astro Saber Stuck in Self Test

Post by Fuel4300 »

I have a parts built astro saber 2 that upon power up displays "self test." The green light blinks on and off sometimes but never beeps. It eventually reaches the home screen but after only a few seconds goes back to "self test." It never displays an error message of any kind.

This problem only showed up the other day and I never had any other problems before then. I made sure all the board connections are solid and I tried removing the encryption module (which was installed about a week ago) but that made no difference. Again, its a parts built radio with a whored flash so sending it to the depot is not an option.

Firmware: R05.52.10
DSP: I06.04.12.
Flash:599108-1C5E00-1
H04RDH9PW7BN.

I am hoping this does not mean the vocon has gone south but thats all I can think of. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

most common problem with the astro saber line......

check the flex connections inside the housing.

chances are you have one there that is either intermittent or flat out bad.

if you have a different housing (even a model 1) try it and see if it fixes the problem.

I tired another housing, a model 3, that I know is good, and no luck.

Is there anyway to figure out which flex it might be?

Thanks,
Mike
