[ What is an "Alpha Series" XTS5000 worth? ]

Post by n6fnp »

I was considering buying an XTS5000 from a seller, but after
finding out the specs on the radio have decided that it is not
as good of a deal as I had thought.

The radio is an "Alpha Series", as it has the 123ABC1234 serial
number. It is also a 403-437 MHz split based on the "Q" from
the model number. The flash is "Flash 100001-000000-7".

What would this radio be realistically worth? The seller would
be willing to take $400.00 for it, but I don't think its worth
that much. Any opinions?

It's a model III. The plastic sheet is still on the display.

If you are not interested my friend would be. I've sent you a PM.

Some people have stated that the new CPS 4.0 will read an alpha radio that previously required the alpha CPS. I have not confirmed this as I do not have any alpha radios.
