Re-cell an AS3 battery - can it be done?
I have a few AS3 batteries that are getting old, and not holding a charge like they used to. Has anyone sucessfully re-celled the battery pack? Can this be done, and any hints would be appreciated.
Li-ion 7.2V 3.6Ah is what I had done recently.
(Notebook size 3.6V 1.8AH x 4)
3 vertical 1 hozonital
Drill 2mm holes around the bottom, take out the old batteries & replaced.
(For Li-ion battery that protective circult board must be applied).
Epoxy seal it.
Normal charging is about 4 hrs.
I got more than 30 monitoring hrs now

2700mAH ok!
I just recelled my AS2 battery. Used 6x SUB-C 2700mah cells from a local distributor.
I used a dremel to cut the base of the battery off. It's important to not damage two small components on the film which surrounds the cells. I did this and had to make some small cables up, covering the destroyed bits of foil with heatshrink and connecting them to the right contacts (hard to explain!)
