MTX8000 B5 over 865.9875 MHz

I know the model specific show that you can do a hex editor to stretch out the bandwith, but has anyone done it and it works? If so, could a codeplug built with it be sent my way?

I've got an MTX8000 that receives quite happily on frequencies as high as 869MHz.

So yes, it does work.

BUT, that's not how you go about it with this radio for those frequencies. There is a flag in the RSS that disables access to the PS frequencies between 866-869/821-824. This is because the MTX radio is not type accepted for use on PS channels.

If you have access to the MTX838 lab software, you can toggle the status of that flag which will enable the channels.

If you don't have access to that software but do have access to MTSX Depot, you can clone in a MTS codeplug. Just make sure that you write down the tuning settings before you clone the codeplug in.

I guess both of my MTX8000's have had the flag set because they work with no fuss on PS freqs.

Most newer radios can't be read with the LAB software in order to set the flag. In that case, your options would be either modifying the RSS as per Batlabs (works fine, done it myself), or forcing a PS capable codeplug into the unit.
