SM120 & DTMF mike * NEW "problem"* Please HELP

Post by grenadiers »

********* Original Post**********
HELP!! How do I (or can I) get a DTMF mike to work on a SM120.

********** New Post************

The Mike I have is a "HMN 1014ASP01"...

Turns out this Mike is for a Syntor X line of Mobile Radios. NOT the SM120, GM300, etc.

The question I have is:

1. Can this mike be "hacked" to work on a SM120.

2. Would anyone like to trade this mike for a HMN1037B (I'm told that will work on a GM300, SM120, etc.). I'm told that the Syntor X mike is worth a small fortune ($457.00cdn, about $225.00US).

HELP!!!!!

:-?

When the complete DTMF-stuff (tone-generator)
is inside the mike, it should be no problem. You
only have to look, what voltage is needed for the
DTMF-cicuitry and if you can take this voltage from
the radios mike-connector.

Sorry, Susan, but some DTMF mics require a voltage source, 8 volts, on pin one. The R1225 and only a few other radios have this.

The guy I bought it from on eBay exchanged the mike and the one he sent me for one that does work.

It turns out that the "original" mike he sent me is worth more then $400.00 CDN! I hope he will get more then the $50.00 US I paid for it!!!!

"worth" is a relative term. M always charged a lot more than they were worth, as they do with a lot of their stuff. I see these regularly on ebay for about 25 bucks.

Susan,

Thanks for the offer... The guy I purchased it from took it back and has since replaced it with a HMN1033 and it seems to be working just fine.

Again THANKS for the offer!!!!! :D
