SP50+ ???

Hi all you Moto fans!!

I have come accross a SP50+ Motorola radio (UHF) does anyone know what RSS software is used to program it?

I know it does not use the SP50 RSS software.

Hope some one is able to help me!!

Hi:

I have been around Motorola portables
for a long time, and never seen a SP50+

They did make a SP50, and a SP50 Compact
which is completely programmable. Both radios
have 2 buttons on the face plate.

The ( P50+ ) is a entirely different radio.

It is a ( Crystal Controlled ) Radio, generally
only 1 or 2 Freq. They did have a " Programmable"
PL Board as a later model, and does require RSS
to program the PL Board.

The Older PL Boards where either PL or DPL
and was changed by dip switches...

Anyhow, they are not all that bad, but are
expensive to set up.

I do have some P50 Program adaptors if you
are interested.

Hard to beleive Motorola would
have made a Compact SP50 and called it a SP50+?
( as pointed out in the other posts )

Even in the model line up they called them a SP50, and
ALL SP50's are programmable via RSS, even a SP50+.

Why they did not use com-and-sense and just call
it a SP50c is a stange one.

Definately a good support reason for the Batgroup as
a whole.

In any event, the SP50, SP50+ are infact fully programmable,
and you can build a simple program stand from the information
here on the batboard.

I would recommend against the ( Nip-Clip ) style as if you
should slip during the program process, the SP50 is one radio
you can kill real easy if the program process is interrupted.

Monty, there is an SP50+. It is (one of the) brand names for the SP-50 compact. The hospital where I work has several of these units. As for the RSS, I could'nt say. I would imagine that there is a version of RSS that would program both the SP-50 and the SP-50+ (similar to the GP300/350 RSS)

This radio looks just like a SP50 just the front plate says SP50+, its about 1/4 smaller (but identical in all other respects).

The model number is P94YQS20GAA. The radio is a 10 Ch. UHF and other then the fact it looks like a shrunk down version of an SP50, its the same, just the RSS for a a SP50 will not work.

I'm not sure what version of software you're using, but we have sold and programmed quite a few of these radios with SP-50 software and haven't had any problems at all.

I'm not sure what version you have, and since I'm not at work, I can't tell you which one we have. If you have the number for customer service @
/\/\ they shouldbe able to tell you the latest and greatest version number.

I'll be sure to check to see what we're using when I get in tomorrow.

I think 'M' confused a lot of folks when they came out with the SP50+,
it is the short SP-50 that uses the 9044 battery and when they started calling it a + it became available only in 10 channels. I guess it's a plus
in that it's only made in 10 channels now but comparing it to a SP-50 standard it's certainly not a + but a minus with that low cap. battery not
up to the task of powering the radio at high power for any amount of time.
(Calling it a SP50c would have made more sense- but who we dealing with here) ?

i have an sp50+ P94YQS20G2AA and it progs fine with the sp50 software. i am away from my progging computer right now so i can't tell you the software version used. also i am using a rigged wire programmer insetead of a progging cradle. just sending data to the lowest outside pin, and ground to neg on the battery contact. so maybe its a problem fitting in the full size cradle?
