Maxtrac RSS Software Programming Question

Post by bbrantner »

When reading a Maxtrac UHF 2 channel unit, I receive a code plug error 54. The software will not allow me to view, change, or safe any data to the channel assingment. The software is reading the radio, as it does display the correct model and serial number of the radio. I have also used this same software, cable, RIB, and PC with a VHF Maxtrac and have had no difficulties. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at a programming booklet for the Maxtrac Trunking mobile in hopes it just might be the same error code for explanation.

Im thinking your refering to a conventional mobile or at least thats my thought.

I did not find error code 54 as a code in the trunking book but did see a error code 53.

Error code 53 said it was a checksum error in the code plug most often caused by replacing the eprom on the bd rather than the entire bd with a initiated eprom from the factory.

If its just a checksum error then id think you could read a good radio which is identical to yours in model number and wattage and try to clone it back into the radio giving you the error code.

Worth a try anyway.

Id see if anyone else here sees a potential probl;em with attempting this but im thinking youd be ok trying it without any problems added.

Go into the Service menu and one of the Alignment menus, then exit back out and try to read the radio again. Some times you have to change a Service/Alignment parramitter slightly and back out. That may correct the error in the 'codeplug'.
