Comtegra/T5600 Console pinouts for MDC1200 -> ASCII decod

Post by cfacer »

After calling both Gai-tronics (the original manufacturer of the Comtegra console) and even Mother /\/\ herself, I am at a dead end for trying to figure out the way to get the ASCII out of either console and into the computer (via COM port RS232) for input into a software decoding program. Neither company supports the Comtegra console and Motorola doesn't even sell the RSS for it anymore. Also, looking at the T5600 information page (http://batlabs.com/t5600.html) leaves a lot to be desired as far as explanation of the individual pinouts. :x

I am beginning to believe that the Comtegra is not capable of outputting MDC1200, but nobody has been able to prove/disprove my theory. Any ideas? :-?

Talk about one heck of a headache!

We have our towing operation using Dek boxes and a Comtegra. It will certainly dump the info if you tell it to use a serial printer. On the software versions the City has at least, the baud rate config does nothing. You take what it sends and you better like it!
