Converting a trunking-only spectra D27 to conventional

Post by hwstar »

I have a trunking only spectra model D27GA5JB5BK with MLM firmware HVN6005A V1.01 which does not seem to have the moflags in the same place as indicated by the write up on Batlabs. The command board range 0xB681 - 0xB690 are all 0xFF's!

I would like to convert this trunking-only spectra into a unit with at least 1 conventional mode. This radio looks like it has very old firmware in it, and I'm wondering if it will support any conventional modes at all. If anyone has converted a radio similar to this one, I'd be interested in what you did.
