motorola P100's

Post by mmb »

I have 2 of these P100's, both in mint condidtion except I think while I was programming them I had a power loss because they are UHF units but now the RSS says they are VHF 2 channel units??? They power up and make a crackle but nothing more? Are they repairable? If so, how?

Was the P100 the first programmable radio, besides the MX series?

Yes, the P100 was the first computer programmable hand held.
The MX series were programmable by unplugging the EPROM and using a suitcase R1800 programmer to programm the chip.

P100

The HT600 was the first. The HT50/P100 came later, and the MT1000 evolved from the HT600.

And the HT50 / P100 were poor examples of what Motorola could make.
