M10 not RX???

Post by w2rac »

Picked up an M10 this weekend at the Melbourne Hamfest.
Reprogramed ok.
BUT I can not seem to get it to RX. No audio from the speaker.
Does this one "beep" when you turn it on.

Also when I was programming it I noted that I could not change the accessory plug function. I want to use as a backup for my IRLP and need to set to general function to use pin 8 for COS or a voltage difference durring RX.
ANY SUGGESTION?

Thanks

Squelch type?

Post by bram380 »

May be squelch type in TPL/DPL mode.
Choose CSQ squelch type at rx freq.
Check again with RSS.
If no rx but tx okay, please check IF X'tal.
Thank you.

I did set to CSQ for TX and RX.
I will check the IF.
I did notice in the logic board there seems to be a part removed. In the front corner near the mic connector between the circuit board mounting screw and the leg of the audio amp a 3 pin transistor is missing.

Don't believe you can program the J5 connector on the M10 or M120 series. Only the M130 or GM300 series can be programmed.

More fuel to the fire.
Tested the radio via the CSQ test point on the logic board.
I do see a voltage difference as expected!!!
Just no audio???

ARG!!!

Next I am going to try to test the audio amp.
