Modax 100: seeking info

Post by kanabecsys »

Hello all!

Looking for any info that would help me become more familiar with the Modax 100 paging terminal - what exactly it's supposed to do, what radios it was meant to be connected to, etc.

TIA,

Keith

uhhhh.... flashbacks....tremors....sickly feeling coming over me.....modax 100/500's......weekend service calls.....frustration....telco interfaces...good thing they were all installed in hospitals so when I had a nervous breakdown I would not have to go far......

basically, a paging terminal, but it heavily interfaced w/ telco- each pager has it's own discrete phone number...I dealt w the 500's alot ....typically hooked up to a 1/4 K Motrac or Micor vintage base station......if you're thinking of using it- don't! if you have to fix it, run far, run fast.....

My two bits worth:
The code plugs are the same as the Moden 100.
Fusable link PROM no longer available.

An interesting antique.
Generates Motorola Quick Call ll tones.
100 number capacity.
Low capacity, not like the Modax 500 series.
I think it has an internal "voice coupler"
The keypad on the front panel is the UNI (Universal Number interchange)
Allows substitution of pagers.
A MRTI would do a better job.
Aloha, Bernie
