Looking for a headset or earbud for XTS5000R

Post by Malpaso »

My first post, so I'll start with a bit of background. I'm a commo op for a medical team (I'm also an EMT). We use the XTS5000R with the only optional accessory being the speaker mike. I really don't like the speaker mike, as it always seems to be in the way. I'd like to get a headset, or even just an earbud. It would be mostly for monitoring, so PTT isn't necessary, but ok to have if the price is right. Which leads me to an important point. The purchase will be coming out of my own pocket, so I'd like to keep it reasonable, but still get a decent piece of equipment. I found a few options, like this combination,

but I really don't know what's good or bad, better or cheaper. Thanks.
