Right outside of the Magic Kingdom, aka the Mouse House. Down the street from Shamu-ville. Just a few miles south of tornado alley.

Yup, me too. There was a tornado not too far away in Lakeland a couple of days ago and news reported a 1500' tower in Orlando came down. Hopefully not the TI freq ? What's being discussed is http://www.hamcation.com
might be OK as the Miami fest which is usually held the week before didn't happen this year.

That tower came down near Deland Florida (100 mi NE of Lakeland) and no it wont affect talkin. It did however take the radio station off the air that is shown below, as well as some land mobile and amateur stuff. Here's a link for your viewing pleasure:

Yes. Whoever is the photographer for the Hamsexy site definitely had a lot to take pictures of. I was in booth 8 of Commercial 1. I had to leave Sat night. Go say hello to Dave and the bunch today before it is too late.

I was in the Swap bldg. with a few things to get rid of. Almost all of it was gone by noon, so we made the loop and were out of there at 1:30
Only IMBE and 900 were mentioned above so having neither I didn't run into any BatLabbers although I did see a car with a ham tag right outside the Swap bldg. that I think was one of us.

I had a pretty good time tailgating. Not as many folks as last year but my revenue this year was pretty good. It was great meeting the other folks from the batboard that I was fortunate enough to come across.

I was there wandering around with the xts2.5K VHF on the hip on both Sat and SUnday, just got home about 1/2 hour ago.

I was pleased with the attendance at the hamfest and the Repeater Council Meeting, and of course the Boston Lobsterfest was a feast into itself on Sat night! 8)

Excellent, maybe we've got a contender. Wasn't there last year but hit it a few years in a row prior and it was nothing like this. For the guys that lodged where'd you wind up and was it decent ? We were scouting for next years lodging on the way back to the Tpke. but things looked pretty dicey along the way. Always had a high opinion of Residence Inn but the one we passed on Canada St. looked like a dive.

We were out west across from Universal, one exit past the Turnpike and about 2 or 3 blocks north. It was decent and $85 a night. A 15 minute ride down I-4 and thru and down the side streets and we were there in less than 25 minutes.

We have stayed closer to the fest in the past paying right around the same rate, but those places you want to have a firearm on the nightstand next to ya.

We voted in the FRC to give the trustee's of the amateur repeaters that were on that tower 6 month grace period to get back on the air as it is normally 60 days. We all were quite taken by the disaster...

I had a great time hanging out with everyone and getting the chance to meet Doug and several other people from the board. I did pretty good revenue wise. Saturday seemed to be ALOT of tire kicking and a majority of the stuff I saw while walking around should have been taken to the curb and not a hamfest. Wouldn't have missed it for the world though.
