PTT Short sidetone - not working

Just as the subject says. PTT sidetone works, just not SHORT sidetone. Firmware R03.50.00. Any ideas? Probably firmware if i had to guess, but why would /\/\ release the radio with a bug like that not fixed?

Should have stated this is my UHF XTS5000 Model III.
