reading a W3 without the HHCH...

Post by IMBEJames »

I did a search but came up dry on this one...

I'd like to read a hi power Astro Spectra W3 with CPS, but I dont have the Y cable yet. I know there's a way to add a jumper somewhere on the accessory connectors on some Astro Spectras that will allow you to turn the radio on without the head. Is this also possible with the W3 version?

I'm getting kinda antsy and would at least like to read the radio :)

Thanks!

Hook up main power.

From MEMORY (use at own risk), jumper pins 20 and 22 on the control head db25 port on the front of the radio.

Read away.

Thanks Jason... Ill give it a shot.

The interconnect schematic says that would be A+ ACC and SW B+. Is that what I am looking for?

I really want to see what firmware this thing has.

It equals connecting the A+ line to the switched B+ line forcing it to power on.
