Re-Assign PTT on MTX8000 B4

Post by rileym »

I know this has been addressed, but I have not been able to find a specific case which discusses this radio with the features that are installed in this one. Its a MTX8000 B4 top display. Tried to find in Lab and in RSS 6.7 where I could re-assign the PTT button. It is currently assigned to nothing...

Where do I find this?

Have been through buttons and switch settings in both pieces of soft... Still no luck.

Thanks,

Matt

The feature I think you are refering to is ONLY in the infamous Depot MRSS version. It's not even in the lab tool for MTSX's. With the amount of time I've been out of it I'd have a difficult time explaining it to the guys in Mexico to get it done for you. What button are you wanting to move the PTT to?

Back to the PTT button.... LOL.

This radio came to me with the PTT assigned to blank. It will not key up.

Also, something has been changed about the accessory port so that it will not key up with a speakermic as well. No solid beep when held either, and the button is in place. TX is fine when tested with tuner....

Thanks

Have you checked to see if they set the concentric swith or secure swith to transmit disabled in both positions. This would cause the problem you are experiencing and is what most peopel who try to use these radios as scanners do. This disables the PTT on the radio and the speaker mic as well, but would still allow the radio to transmit with the tuner.

And for two position concentric, A is scan list program and B is Blank....

I'm starting to think it might just be easier to get another codeplug.... lol.

Email me the codeplug I'll take a look at it for you and see if I can't fix it.
